POMME DE TERRE LAKE - Huge bags were weighed in at the fourth stop of the Solo Pro Series at Lighthouse boat ramp this past Sunday with take off at 6 a.m. Bluebird skies and a chilly start turned into a hot cloudy day with north western cross winds. The “Dock Talk” was that a lot of the fish caught early were quite small, but as the day progressed the bigger ones came out to play. A huge thank you to Clearlight Inn, for providing rooms for the anglers.

Scott Hill weighed in a solid five fish limit at 24.21 lbs which earned him first place honors. “In the morning I had a pretty consistent bite, but as the day progressed it slowed way down,” said Hill. Fishing primarily in the Pomme de Terre river arm, he used a Choppers ⅝ oz PB&J jig in deep structure off of main lake points. All his fish were caught anywhere from 15 to 20 feet deep.

Terry Bradley 2nd place-1.jpg

Terry Bradley took second place with a weight of 20.23 lbs. He spent his day mainly mid-lake on primary and secondary points. The bite for Bradley was, “Pretty steady throughout the day”. The bigger fish he found were all in 12 to 20 feet of water. He caught them on a ¼ oz PB&J Choppers football head jig.

Rodney Edwards 3rd place-1.jpg

Taking third place was Rodney Edwards weighing in at 17.84 lbs. “I feel that I can catch more fish staying on 1 spot and casting 1,000 times than fishing 1,000 spots and only casting 1 time at each place” stated Edwards. Staying on one spot is exactly what he did for 7 of the 8 hours in the tournament. He fished a hump in the Pomme de Terre river arm, casting in about 15 to 20 feet of water. He used a 1 oz PB&J Choppers jig due to the high cross wind. He caught his first limit early, but as the day went on the bass got bigger and he culled all of his first limit. The last hour was spent on a point by the dam where he culled his last fish.
